Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the development of the Russian resort system in the XVIII-XIX centuries. The purpose of the article is to examine the development of the Russian resort system in the 18th-19th centuries based on the experience gained during the reign of Peter I. In the course of the study, some results were obtained: the experience gained under the great reformer Tsar Peter the Great in creating local Russian resorts was not wasted. In fact, two centuries of Russian history in organizing the health resort business in Russia were based on the achievements of the early 18th century and by the beginning of the XX century. Russia had 36 resorts, uniting 60 sanatoriums with a total capacity of 3000 people, as well as several kumys healing centers.
