Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of F.M. Dostoevskys worldview towards Western values and Catholicism as the ideological basis of Western European civilization. F.M. Dostoevsky paid special attention to the study of different types of Europeans, their religious views, and also compared Russian culture with Western European. The authors of the article point to the critical attitude of F.M. Dostoevsky to the West and Catholicism as an organic part of the Western way of life and thinking.
