Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of one of the important issues of Russian historiography. In the post-Soviet period, historians paid considerable attention to the study of various aspects of the formation and development of lower agricultural education in post-reform Russia. At the same time, many aspects of the organization of industrial training in all types of lower agricultural schools and workshops remained fragmentarily investigated. The article shows that the peculiarities of the organization of special education in agricultural schools were determined by the lack of proper experience, the difficulties of the educational peasant mentality of the population as a whole, regional characteristics, the activity of zemstvo institutions and individuals. Practical training in the techniques of performing agricultural work with a certain amount of theory stimulated the awareness of peasant youth of getting an education as a factor in their socialization.
